Parcel & Parking Analysis
Puyallup Sounder Train Station
The Puyallup Sounder Train Station is a popular alternative method of transportation for residents of the South Sound. In downtown, the station is close to single and multiple-family residential, local eateries and shopping, City Hall, and more.

According to Puyallup Municipal Code (20.55.011), minimum parking applies to all parcels within 0.25 miles of the Sounder Station's parcel boundaries, where at least 50% of a parcel area is contained within this radius.
A quick parcel search and data export created a shapefile for the Sounder Station area and boundary. A 0.25 mile buffer was made with the new shapefile as the input. The "tabulate intersection" tool was then run with the 0.25 mile buffer and a layer containing all Puyallup tax parcels as inputs. This tool enabled me to isolate the tax parcels that were contained within the buffer area, while generating statistics of the percentage of the tax parcel area that was within the buffer simultaneously. Within the attribute table, searching for parcels that were equal to or greater than 50% using the new statistics field generated from the previous tool (SQL Percentage >= 50), these parcels were exported into a new shapefile to create the map above.
